Dr. Saagar Mahida - BSc, MD, PhD, FRCP
Atrial Fibrillation Specialist – Dr Saagar Mahida is a consultant cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist (heart rhythm specialist) based in Liverpool & Manchester.
After completing his heart rhythm speciality training in the UK, Dr Mahida undertook advanced specialisation at the Harvard University-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Hôpital de Haut-Lévêque in Bordeaux, the pioneering unit where the first curative catheter ablation worldwide was performed. He also undertook a postdoctoral research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where his research focused on the genetic basis of atrial fibrillation.
Dr Mahida is based at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, the largest specialist heart hospital in the UK. He is currently one of the highest volume operators for catheter ablation procedures in the North West of England.
